The Garden

After a dip in excitement for the garden - I'm back on! This morning Bridget, Lucy and I "harvested" some tomatoes, banana peppers, onions and leeks! WOW! It actually worked! I'm shocked and thrilled :). Now I have to figure out what to make with these fabulous veggies for tonight!

She's Crafty - Mosaic Table

I started this towards the beginning of the summer. A couple of weeks ago my mom gave me the best surprise ever and finished mosaicing the edges! I grouted it and put the table together. It now lives on our porch. The table and mosaic pieces are all from my mom's Prairie Fired Pottery stash - it's so fun to use the pieces and remember the store. That was one fun paint your own pottery studio!!! Notice the complete chaos around the table while I'm trying to take pics :) .

An experiment in TV

Well - let's just say we've been having "issues" with Bridget's potty training. She was rockin' it for a couple months and then the last 3 days have been awful. So I decided to hit her where it hurts (just a saying of course) and I took away the TV all day today. If she didn't have an accident all day I would let her watch one show tomorrow morning. Now, I honestly didn't feel like she watched TV that much. But after today I may never turn the thing back on. She was a total delight. Actually PLAYED with her sister and was engaging all day. She danced in the car, sang during her rest time while reading a book and helped me make muffins. I'm so NOT against TV and after a 30 minute errand-running car ride with 5 MILLION "why's" I almost gave in. "Why did that car stop, why is the light red, why did we stop, why are we moving, why are we turning" - all in a matter of 3 minutes. WHOA!!! But - I have to say, there was a noticeable difference with Bridget today. I'm not banning TV for life - but I am REALLY curbing it!!! And she did not have an accident today - way to go Bridget!

Perfect Picnic

I have a bunch of crafty things to post - but I just haven't gotten around to uploading my pictures! I do have some great pics of a recent picnic we went on with my parents and sister. Bill, Nana, the girls and I rented a "bike" (4 seats, really heavy) for 30 minutes. We made it 12 minutes and had to push it up a hill. No wonder the man who rents these bikes are still in business! Enjoy the pics!

Too Funny

Bridget's language continues to completely entertain us. I asked Bill if he wanted to put Lucy in her pajamas or sit with Bridget while she finishes her bath. He said, "I'll stay with Bridgie". She replied, " That was a good choice!" The girl is 2 1/2 - she's hysterical!

She's Crafty - Pants

I would love to post a picture of Bridget in the first pair of pants I have attempted to make her. I think they are quite adorable. Unfortunately she peed in them before I could get a picture - ah potty training :)...

A little sad

I finished Breaking Dawn - the fourth book in the Twilight series by Stephanie Meyer - in 4 days. 750 pages in 4 days!! That is absolutely unheard of for me. I loved the book and now I'm a little sad that it's over! Can't wait for the movies :)...

Lucy's hair

When Bridget was little people always commented on how much hair she had and how pretty it was. Although we love Lucy to pieces, they're both fabulously different, whatever, whatever - that is not the case with her hair...

Ms. B

Bridget has been very busy. She got a new bike - bright pink with training wheels and a rockin' helmet. Bill and I kept drilling in to her that a bike is more dangerous than her big wheel, she has to be very careful, yadda, yadda, yadda. So anytime she would do anything kind of dangerous she would immediately say, "I'm okay, I'm okay, I'm okay." On the first afternoon she slid under some steps, basically clotheslining herself. She stood up quickly and told us, "Sometimes I just have to be a Rowdy Rowdster" - PRICELESS!!!

Another big adventure for Bridget was the frog her dad found while mowing. We put him in a glass for a couple minutes and then let him go by the pond behind our house. The pictures say it all...

She's Crafty - The Purse that almost killed me...

I was so determined. Once I decided I was going to finish this purse I wouldn't let myself work on anything else - crafty-wise. It took me forever -okay, maybe a total of 20 hours - but to me that is FOREVER on one project. I try and pick out things that I can finish in a couple of hours or so. I sewed pieces of fabric in the wrong spot, ripped them out and re-sewed them. I actually have blood on the purse from where I poked myself with a safety pin - FYI you bleed much more from poking yourself with a safety pin than with a regular sewing needle. But - it's done. It looks great, but it doesn't have any interior pockets and my date book doesn't fit in it - damn. My mom said it would be a much quicker project the second time around - PUHLEASE - there will be no next time. :).
